Metallosnabzhinie I Sbyt (Metal Supply and Sales) Magazine – the share of coated steel’s import from the countries of South Eastern Asia region to Russia totals about 12% - director of RUSTEEL Trade M. Patswald said at the 3-d International conference “Galvanized and painted steel: prospectives of production and consumption in 2008”.

He said, that the proportion of Russian import from other countries comes to 63%, domestic manufacture – 25%.

The main reasons of the growth of import from the countries of South Eastern Asia region, according to the report of M. Patswald, are:

Shortage of the domestic productive capacity in ;

The growth of coated steel consumption in the – 20%;

Advanced techniques of coating, exclusive types of steel coatings in South Eastern Asia;

Competitive supply in the market;

International quality of coated steels.
