Deita.ru – RUSTEEL to boost its scrap processing capacities.

The company signed a contract to purchase a wheeled material handling crane with hydraulic elevating cab Caterpillar M322D MH as complete unit with orange peel grapples Caterpillar GSH15. The amount of the deal will total RUB10 million. The equipment is to be supplied in 3 months.

As the company told Deita.RU, the purchase of the material handler will help to increase the efficiency of existing scrap processing facilities and to boost its sales of processed scrap. The new equipment is expected to pay off in 2 years.

RUSTEEL started scrap collection and processing operations in 2004. The company aims to ensure raw materials supplies to domestic steel producers in Russia. To meet these ends, the company invested over RUB12 million over the last 2 years to upgrade its scarp processing facilities.

The company officials pointed out that timely purchase of up-to-date equipment will help RUSTEEL to boost its sales volume of high-grade scrap (A3), and at the same time substantially cut light scrap processing costs. As a result, in current market with rush demand for scrap from Russian steel producers, RUSTEEL scrap prices and available volumes will be highly competitive.
